개인적으로 늘 쉐보레 아베오 디자인을 좋아했고, 운전시 성능과 느낌은 정말 월드클래스였습니다. 환상적이라는 단어를 떠올리게 하지요.
아베오 RS는 2010년 초에 디트로이트와 제네바 모터쇼에서 전시되었고, 생산 준비에 이른 마지막 모습은 쇼카 만큼 강렬합니다.

If you like the Matiz Creative, sold as the Chevrolet Spark in the rest of the world, you are going to LOVE the all-new Chevrolet Aveo, GM’s ”hot hatchback” will be one of four Chevrolet world premieres at the Paris Motor Show.
With Taewan Kim and his world-class design team at the helm, the vehicle’s dynamic design stays true to the Aveo RS show car.
Taewan’s design combined with Vehicle Line Director Uli Schmalohr’s engineering prowess result in perhaps one of the best vehicles we have ever developed at General Motors. Uli is German and hence, the vehicle has a real European feel and flair to it from an engineering and powertrain standpoint.
I’ve always liked the design, and now, having driven it, the performance, ride and feel is quite simply world-class. Fantastic is a word that come to mind.
The Aveo RS show car was displayed at the Detroit and Geneva motor shows earlier in 2010, and the final production-ready car looks every bit as compelling as the show car.
Entering the highly competitive global small car segment, striking design elements of the new Chevrolet Aveo include the dynamic looking front with its exposed twin-headlamps and Chevrolet’s signature dual port grille, compact taut body panels with a rising shoulder line and short rear overhangs, rear door handles “hidden’ in the c-pillar and a 'body in, wheels out' profile.
Reminiscent of the recently introduced Matiz Creative in Korea and Chevrolet Spark in Europe, the new Aveo is designed to appeal to younger customers with its sporty hot-hatch look. A four-door sedan variant will launch in Europe alongside the hatch next summer. Both hatch and sedan are practical small cars providing ample interior space.
Final specifications of the new Aveo will be carefully tailored to each market in which it’s offered.
The new Aveo is longer and wider than the current model, giving it a spacious interior and cargo volume that is among best in class. The interior design perhaps holds even more surprises than the outside, in particular the motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster which features an analog tachometer combined with a digital speedometer.
Blue backlighting is featured on the center console, while the whole of the front cabin is enveloped in a wraparound fascia. This can be color-coded and flows from the dash into both the driver's and front passenger’s doors. Aveo’s interior provides consumers with high quality materials as well as multiple storage spaces in the center stack and a modern audio system with USB, auxiliary-in and Bluetooth functionality.
Reflecting its sporty personality, Aveo has been engineered to provide communicative handling, a characteristic which stems partly from its tight body frame integral (BFI) structure where highest levels of torsional rigidity have been achieved.
The new Aveo's chassis has been fine tuned to satisfy discerning tastes with a ride and handling ratio that combines comfort with responsiveness. Electronic power steering (EPS), Electronic stability control (ESC) and ABS brakes will be standard.
Finally, we will soon have a world class small car ready to compete against the best in the small-car segment.

지엠대우오토앤테크놀로지(이하 GM DAEWOO)는 글로벌 소형차 쉐보레 아베오(Chevrolet Aveo, 국내판매명: 젠트라, 젠트라엑스) 의 새 모델이 오는 30일 프랑스 파리에서 열리는 ‘2010 파리모터쇼(2010 Paris Mondial de L’Automobile)’에 공개된다고 밝혔다.
지난 2010 북미 국제 오토쇼와 제네바 모터쇼에 쇼카(Show Car)로 공개된 바 있는 ‘쉐보레 아베오 RS’를 기반으로 개발된 차세대 글로벌 소형차 양산 모델은 이번 파리모터쇼에 공개될 7인승 MPV 올란도(Orlando), 크루즈(Cruze) 해치백과 함께 쉐보레 브랜드가 세계 최초로 선보이는 신차 중 하나.
GM의 글로벌 소형차 개발본부인 GM DAEWOO가 개발과 디자인을 주도한 차세대 글로벌 소형차 쉐보레 아베오는 상하로 구분된 쉐보레 그릴 디자인과 어우러진 돌출형 외부 노출 헤드램프가 강렬한 첫 인상을 준다.
또한 높아진 벨트라인(Belt Line)과 짧은 뒷바퀴 오버행(Overhang), 마티즈 크리에이티브에 적용된 바 있는 숨겨진 뒷문 손잡이, 바디인/휠아웃(Body-in/ Wheels-out) 스타일 등이 역동적이면서도 안정된 모습을 연출한다.
핫해치(Hot hatchback) 스타일에 어울리는 젊은 고객층은 물론, 여유로운 실내 공간으로 패밀리카 시장까지 겨냥한 아베오 새 모델은 내년 초 국내 출시 후, 5도어 해치백과 4도어 세단이 나란히 내년 여름, 유럽시장에 출시될 계획.
쉐보레 유럽의 웨인 브래넌(Wayne Brannon) 사장은 “판매 시장별 특성에 맞도록 섬세하게 다듬어진 새로운 쉐보레 아베오는 글로벌 소형차 시장을 석권할 채비를 마쳤다”고 밝혔다.
아베오 새 모델은 기존 모델(젠트라, 젠트라엑스) 보다 길이와 폭이 커지면서 동급 최대 용량의 화물 적재 능력과 넓은 실내공간을 확보했다.
디지털 속도계와 아날로그 RPM 게이지가 조화를 이룬 모터사이클 스타일의 계기판은 독창적인 실내 디자인을 연출하며, 센터콘솔에 숨겨진 블루 무드 조명은 운전석과 동반석 대시보드를 중심으로 도어를 따라 흐르면서 고급 마감재로 처리된 실내를 은은하게 감싼다.
한편, 아베오 새 모델은 스포티한 차량 특성에 어울리는 즉답식 핸들링과 함께 BFI(Body Frame Integral: 차세 상부와 프레임 일체형 설계) 시스템으로 최고 수준의 차체 비틀림 강성을 확보했다. 또한, 전자식 파워 스티어링(EPS: Electronic Power Steering), 차체 자세 제어장치(ESC: Electronic Stability Control) 및 ABS를 안전사양으로 적용했다.
아베오 새 모델은 가변 밸브 타이밍(VVT: Variable Valve Timing)과 디젤 엔진에 적용되는 커먼레일 연료분사방식(Common Rail Fuel Injection) 등 최신 엔진 제어기술을 적용한 다양한 종류의 가솔린, 디젤 엔진을 장착하고 유럽시장에 판매될 계획.
가솔린 모델은 1.2리터 모델(70마력, 86마력)과 1.4리터 모델(100마력), 1.6리터 모델(115마력)로 구성된다. 또 엔진 스타트&스탑 (Start&Stop) 기술을 탑재한 1.3리터 디젤 모델(75마력, 95마력)도 선보일 계획.
1.4리터와 1.6리터 모델에는 쉐보레 소형차 최초로 6단 자동변속기가 탑재되며, 엔진 사양에 따라 5단 또는 6단 수동변속기를 선택할 수 있다.

Paris – There is no shortage of world firsts for Chevrolet at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show, and joining the Orlando MPV and Cruze hatchback show car will be the all-new Chevrolet Aveo 5-door.
The Aveo RS show car was displayed at the Detroit and Geneva motor shows earlier in 2010, and the final production-ready car looks every bit as compelling as the show car.

In Europe, a comprehensive range of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines will be available in the new Chevrolet Aveo, incorporating the latest technologies such as variable valve timing, double continuous variable cam phasing and common rail fuel injection for the diesels.
The gasoline engine range includes two 1.2 liter versions (at 70 hp and at 86hp), a 1.4 liter unit (100 hp) and a 1.6 liter (115hp). For the first time, Aveo will be offered with two versions of a 1.3 liter diesel engine (at 75 hp and at 95 hp) featuring Start/Stop technology.
Chevrolet's first 6-speed automatic transmission on a small car will be featured on the Aveo 1.4 and 1.6 as an option in most European markets; manual transmissions are of 5 or 6 speed depending on engine choice.
