날씨 좋은 오늘아침, 저는 이곳 인천공항에서 글을 씁니다.
잠시 샛길로 나가볼까요. 인천공항은 정말 세계 최고의 공항입니다. 농담이 아네요.
물론 싱가폴의 창이 공항이 비슷하긴 합니다만, 홍콩의 공항은 (제 생각에는) 못 따라 옵니다.
그리고 인천공항의 효율성이란 그저 놀라울 뿐 입니다.
자, 다시 본론으로 돌아가죠.
제 비행기는 한 시간 정도 이후 파리 모터쇼를 향 해 출발 합니다. 저는 올해 파리 모터쇼에 기대가 큽니다. 이 것이 이유죠.
지엠은 이번 파리 모터쇼에서 4종의 차량을 세계 최초로 공개합니다.
그리고 이 차들은 모두 지엠대우의 입김이 닿아 있습니다. 이번 월드 프리미어는 세계에 지엠이 월드 클라스 제품을 줄줄이 내면서 지엠의 가장 큰 브랜드를 강화한다는 것을 알림과 동시에 지엠대우의 역량을 동시에 보여준다고 하겠습니다.
저는 이전에 말한 바 있습니다. 지엠에 있어 지엠대우의 역할이 지금보다 중요했던 적은 없노라고 말이죠.
저는 이번 파리 모터쇼가 제 말을 정확히 증명할 겁니다.
파리에서 쉐보레는 말 그대로 자동차시장의 모든 세그먼트에서 뉴스를 만들어 낼 겁니다.
뉴 아베오 (Aveo), 올란도 (Orlando) 캡티바 (Captiva) 그리고 크루즈 5도어 해치백 모델 쇼카의 세계 최초공개가 그 이유입니다. 이 네 차종 모두 지엠대우에서 디자인, 개발 되었습니다.
앞으로 더 해 드릴 이야기가 많을 겁니다. 약속 드리죠.
개인적인 이야기를 하자면, 제가 바쁘게 지낼 이곳이 파리라는 점입니다. (1월의 디트로이트와 비교하자면, 아오ㅋㅋ!)
정말 아름다운 도시입니다. 환상적인 도시고, 저는 이 곳에서 있기만 해도 행복할 것 같습니다.
바쁜 건 개의치 않습니다. 저는 지금 파리에 있습니다. 아아아. 수요일 밤부터 금요일 오후까지 제 스케쥴은 빡빡합니다.
하지만 최대한 짬을 내서 산책도 하고, 거리 까페에서 에스프레소도 마셔보고 금요일밤 카페에서 감자튀김과 함께 나오는 스테이크도 먹어보고 싶습니다.

“Off to Paris”
On this bright and sunny morning, I write to you from Incheon Airport. Let me digress for a minute. This really is the best airport in the world. No kidding. Sure Changi Airport in Singapore comes close, but Hong Kong does not (in my mind), and the efficiency of this place is quite simply, stunning. Okay…back to the blog.
My flight departs in an hour or so for Paris for the 2010 Paris Auto Show. I am really looking forward to heading to Paris this year. Here’s why.
GM is going to unveil four world premieres by Chevrolet, and GM Daewoo “touched” every single one of these vehicles. Not only is this going to demonstrate to the world, that GM is going to bolster its largest brand with world-class product after product, but it is also going to showcase GM Daewoo’s capabilities. I have always said to the naysayers out there that never before has GM Daewoo been more important to GM’s global success than it is today, and auto show will prove my point.
In Paris, Chevrolet will make news in virtually every segment and corner of the market with world debuts of the new Aveo small hatchback, the striking Orlando MPV and the Captiva SUV, and a first appearance in show car form of the Cruze 5-door hatchback. All four vehicles were designed and developed by GM Daewoo. There’ll be much more to talk about in the days to come. I promise.
Second, on a personal note, while my time will be busy, this show is still being held in Paris (versus Detroit in January, ugh!). What a beautiful city. It’s fantastic. I am looking forward to just spending time here. It doesn’t matter that I am busy. I am in Paris. Ahhh. My schedule Wednesday night through Friday afternoon is packed, but I hope to squeeze in some time for a walk, a cup of expresso at a street café and a dinner of steak frites at a café Friday night.
