Blog.gmdaewoo.co.kr 로 오세요.
저희와 만나실 수 있습니다!

Hi Everyone, my name is Jay Cooney. I am the Vice President of Corporate Affairs at GM Daewoo. I’ve lived in Korea now for 19 months – working at GM Daewoo in Incheon and Seoul. I love my job. I love this organization. This is a wonderful international posting for me and my family.
When you go overseas for GM, I think there are two things that an expatriate or foreigner needs to accomplish: to learn about the host country and its business and also to help educate the local talent on GM’s best practices and global operations. This brings me to the purpose of this blog.
Depending on what study you read – and I have read a lot- Korean’s rank between #1 and #3 on internet use. A lot of your information comes from web-based communications. At GM Daewoo, we have not done a very good job at communicating with you on the web. All of that has changed. Let me tell you a bit about our plans. To begin with our blogs will be posted on blog.gmdaewoo.co.kr.
Second, we have 24 highly motivated employees from different cities and different functions that are going to blog regularly about their professional lives. You’ll be able to hear from our Sales and Marketing blogger about our latest ads and what we hope to accomplish with them. She will share the ads with netizens and solicit your feedback and opinions. You will also be able to read a regular blog from one of our very talented designers. He’ll share sketches with you, thoughts on current product, and tell you about what he is working on and what he wants to work on next. And then of course, you will have me.
I plan to blog regularly. It is the only way for this to work: I have to be active. Doing this once a week is not good enough and will not be accepted by netizens. So I plan on jumping into this from the start. I’ll share my thoughts and opinions with you. I will bring you “inside my life at GM Daewoo” and provide you with some information – which non-netizens are not privy to – like what we are working on. For example, the M300 (Matiz Creative) global launch next week. (It is really going well and I am very pleased with the overall look and feel of the event. Now we just have to pull it off. I will also share news with you. Here is something that people do not know: GM Daewoo and KDB long-term credit facility discussions are progressing as planned and we hope to wrap up these negotiations in the next 60 days. We are pleased with the progress, but eager to conclude the negotiations. I’ll also comment on traditional media stories and web-based stories that involve GM Daewoo and GM. You will find that I am very direct, open, honest and candid with my opinions. I hope you find this refreshing.
As I mentioned above, I am enjoying myself in your country. To this end, I will also blog about my experiences in Korea – that have nothing to do with GM Daewoo – but everything to do with what it is like for a foreigner to live here. I’ll tell you about good restaurants that I recommend, one’s that I don’t, family travels in Korea and experiences in and around Seoul. I hope you find this interesting, and if you don’t I’ll drop this portion of my blog and just focus on business. Let me know what you think.
This is my first ever blog, but again, I promise you it will not be my last. Stick with me though, as I know the postings will get more interesting and will be better written in the future.
