ㅡㅡ; 아주 시크하게 대답을 하네요. 지난번에 여러분께서 모아주신 질문 + 기타 질문들을 버무려서 물어보았습니다.
1. 자기 소개 해주세요.
제 이름은 Mattew Kriska 입니다. 나이는 서른이고, 미국출신의 과학선생입니다. 현재는 서울에 있으면서 가르치는 일(영어)을 하고 있습니다.
2. 즐겁게 타셨나요?
당연하죠. 라세티 프리미어를 운전하는 것은 진짜 즐거웠습니다.
3. 이 차의 어떤 점이 맘에 들었나요?
우선, 라세티 프리미어는 날카롭게 생긴 차입니다. 처음 보고 만족했습니다.
두 번째로, 저는 라세티 프리미어가 진짜 운전자의 만족을 위해 디자인 된 차라고 느꼈습니다. 세세한 부분의 디테일이 잘 되어 있는 차 입니다. 오토매틱 와이퍼 (레인센서), 오토매틱 라이트, 후방 주차 센서 같은 것들은 좀 더 삶을 편하게 해줍니다. 하지만 마음에 즉각적으로 다가 오는 것은 이 차가 운전하기에 아주 편하다라는 점입니다. 차가 꽉 막혀도 전혀 괴롭지 않습니다. 꼭 집에 있는 것 마냥 편합니다.
4. 이 차의 어떤 점이 맘에 안들었나요?
버튼 한번 누르면 창문이 자동으로 다 내려가 버리는 게 짜증났습니다. 대부분의 경우 저는 창문을 약간만 열기를 원하는데 이 건 좀 별로입니다. 하지만 이 기능은 톨게이트 지나갈 때는 유용했습니다.
5. 이 차 타고 가본 곳에 대해 말해주세요.
이 차 타고 서울에서 수많은 좁은 길과 꽉 막힌 도로들을 달렸습니다. 그리고 친구들과 동해의 강릉, 그리고 서해의 대천 해수욕장도 가봤습니다. 산도 여러 번 가보고, 대전, 청주, 광주, 대구, 전주, 원주, 천안도 가봤네요.
6. 한국의 자동차 문화에 대해 어떻게 생각하세요?
한국의 고속도로 시스템은 놀라울 정도로 잘 되어 있습니다. 그리고 아주 효율적이죠.( 출구를 놓치지 않는다면요) 도심에서 운전할 때는 자신감이 아주 중요한 것 같습니다. 사람들은 가야 할 목적지가 있고, 때로는 그 목적지 까지 가기 위해 룰을 어기기도 하죠. 도로에서 볼 수 있는 차량의 종류와 색상이 다양하지 못한 것은 약간 활기 없어 보입니다. 즉, 독특한 모델이나 특이한 색상의 차량을 몰면 바로 튀겠죠.
7. 한국 사람들은 큰 차를 좋아합니다. 어떻게 생각하세요.
저는 이 현상이 편안함을 추구하는 것을 반영한다고 생각합니다. 엄청 많은 차들이 돌아다니고, 때로 길에서 많은 시간을 보내야 할 수 있으니까요.
8. 다른 브랜드와 비교 했을 때, 라세티 프리미어가 부족한 부분은 어떤 것인가요?
지엠대우 차량을 처음 몰아봤습니다만 놀라울 정도로 즐거웠습니다. 초반 가속이 부족한 듯 보입니다만 연비로 그 부족함을 상쇄하는 것 같아요.
9. 라세티 프리미어 외에 다른 지엠대우 차량 중 타보고 싶은 건 없으신가요?
윈스톰과 베리타스 둘 다 멋있어 보이는 차입니다. 몰아보고 싶네요. 라세티 프리미어가 준 느낌과 퍼포먼스를 경험하고나니, 지엠대우는 미래에 간과할 수 없는 브랜드라는 생각이 확 듭니다.
10. 라세티 프리미어 가격이 적절하다고 느낍니까? 미국에서는 어느 정도면 사겠습니까?
당연하죠. 저는 2만불 이하로 이차를 샀다는 기분 좋은 만족감을 안고 대리점을 나설 것 같습니다 (샀다면).
11. 라세티 프리미어는 6단 기어가 장착되어 있습니다. 이 차와 잘 매칭이 되어 있다고 생각하세요?
솔직히 몰랐습니다만, 서울에서의 잽싸게 끼어들고 빠져야 하는 교통상황을 위해 저속기어에서 조금 더 가속에 집중했으면 더 낫지 않았을까 생각했습니다.
12. 라세티 프리미어보다 반응이 더 느린 차를 몰아본적이 있나요?
예. 포드 토러스. 내 외부 모두 분리된 듯한 느낌을 받았습니다.
13. 전체적으로 라세티 프리미어가 살 가치가 있는 차라고 생각하나요?
당연하죠.
14. 다른 한국차를 몰아본 적이 있어요?
아뇨. 이게 처음입니다.
15. 한국차와 다른 외국차와 차이가 있는 것 같아요? 있다면 어떤 점이 있을까요?
차이가 있다고 느끼지 않습니다.
16. 라세티 프리미어 광고를 본적이 있나요? 어떤 느낌입니까?
본적이 없어요. 솔직히 말씀 드리면 저는 광고에 관심이 거의 없습니다.
제가 직접 몰아본 후 받은 긍정적인 느낌이 바로 라세티 프리미어가 저에게 다가오는 소구 포인트입니다.
17. 한국에서 과속으로 걸려본 적이 있나요?
아뇨. 다행히 없습니다.
18. 과속하다 걸리면 벌금은 어느 정도 내나요?
이 부분은 어느 주에 있냐 라는 것과 각각 상황에 따라 다릅니다. 하지만 미국 미네소타 주에서는 55마일(88km)도로에서 70 (112km)마일로 갔을 때, 140(약 16만2천원) 불 정도 벌금을 냅니다.
하지만, 보통 제한 속도에서 약 7마일 이내까지는 과속딱지를 받지 않습니다. 시속 55마일 도로에서 62마일로 간다고 해서 벌금을 내지는 않는다는 이야기입니다.
19. 가솔린 1리터 얼마인가요? 디젤은요? 한국에서의 기름값에 대해 어떻게 생각하시나요?
미국에서 디젤은 흔하지 않습니다. 현재 가솔린 1갤론의 가격은 2.5불 정도 입니다. (리터당0.65달러/ 755.95원) 한국에서의 가솔린 가격은 진짜 비쌉니다.

My name is Matthew Kriska, I’m a 30 year old science teacher from the United States. Currently I am living and teaching in Seoul.
2. Did you enjoy driving this car?
Definitely, driving the Lacetti Premiere was truly a pleasure.
3. What do you like about this car?
Firstly, it’s a sharp looking car and I was initially pleased with it’s aesthetics.
Secondly, I felt that the Lacetti Premiere was truly designed with the driver’s contentment in mind. It was easy to appreciate the attention to detail, the options such as automatic wipers, automatic lights, and reverse sensor just seemed to make my life easier. But, what immediately comes to mind was how comfortable it was to drive. When the traffic was bad it wasn’t bothersome, the car felt like home.
4. What do you not like about this car?
I felt that it was annoying that the driver’s side window would automatically roll completely down at the push of a button. Most times I just prefer to open the window a few inches and this was a distraction. However, this feature was convenient when passing through tollbooths.
5. Tell us about the places you have been to with the car.
I drove though countless busy streets and narrow alleyways in Seoul. Additionally I drove with friends to visit beaches near Daecheon on the West Sea and Kangnung on the East Sea. I had more than one beautiful drive through mountains and made stops in several cities including Taejon, Chonju, Kwangju, Daegu, Chongju, Wonju, and Chonan.
6. What do you think about Korean automotive culture?
The Korean freeway system is impressively laid out and extremely efficient (as long as you don’t miss your exit.) I think it’s important to have a sense of confidence while driving in a city; people have destinations to get to and will sometimes bend the rules to get there! The lack of variety of car models and color on the road tends to be somewhat lackluster; having said that, it really makes a unique model or color car really stand out in the crowd of vehicles.
7. Korean customers love big cars, if you haven’t noticed. What do you think about it?
I think that it shows their appreciation for comfort, there are a lot of cars on the road and traffic can be a time consuming affair.
8. What do you think the Matiz Creative (or the Lacetti Premiere) is lacking in comparison with other brands?
This was my first experience driving a GM Daewoo and it was surprisingly pleasurable. The Lacetti seemed to lack a quick acceleration, but I think it made up for that lack with an appreciable savings in the money spent on gasoline.
9. Would you like to drive other GM Daewoo vehicles other than what you have driven?
The Windstorm and Veritas are both smart looking vehicles that I would be proud to drive. After my experiences with the feel and performance of the Lacetti; I’m sure that GM Daewoo is a brand that I will not overlook in the future.
10. Do you reckon the Matiz Creative (or the Lacetti Premiere) sells at a reasonable price? How much would you pay for this car back home? (Canada or the U.S)
Definitely. I would walk away from the dealership with a sense of satisfaction knowing I just bought a great car for well under $20,000.
11. The Lacetti Premiere is equipped with 6 speed transmission, if you are aware of this. Do you find it well matched to the vehicle?
I wasn’t aware of this, however, I did feel that it would have been nice too have the acceleration focused a bit more in the lower gears for jumping in and out of Seoul traffic.
12. Have you ever driven any vehicles slower than the Lacettie Premiere “in terms of response”?
Yes, a Ford Taurus which fell apart both on the inside and out.
13. Overall, do you find the Lacetti Premiere worth buying? (Mattie)
Absolutely.
14. Have you ever had a chance to drive other Korean cars at all?
No, this was my first experience with any Korean made vehicle.
15. Do you reckon that there are differences between the Korean cars and the western brands? If you do, what would they be?
I really don’t feel there is any significant difference.
16. Have you seen any advertisements for the Matiz Creative (or the Lacetti Premiere) on TV? How do you find them?
I haven’t. To be completely honest I pay as little attention to advertisements as possible.
What really sold me on the Lacetti was positive impression that it left me with after driving it.
17. Have you experienced being pulled over by the police in Korea?
No, Thankfully not!
18. How much would you be fined if you got caught speeding in your country?
It varies depending on the situation and where you are, but in the USA in the state of Minnesota it would cost you about $140.00 for going 70mph in a 55mph zone,
However, usually you wouldn’t get a ticket if you are driving 7 miles per hour or less over the speed limit. For example going 62mph in a 55mph zone shouldn’t get you a ticket.
19. How much is a liter of petrol? And diesel? Do you find the petrol price in Korea reasonable?
Diesel isn’t a common option in the USA for cars.
The current price of a gallon of gasoline in the USA is about $2.50 ($0.65 per Liter)
The price of gas in Korea is truly expensive.
