10월 1일, 파리에서 아카몬 사장님은 많은 언론 인터뷰를 가졌으며, 이 가운데 몇가지를 전하고자 합니다.
쉐보레는 한국에 내년 출시를 목표로 하고 있는데 첫번째 차량은 쉐보레의 상징인 카마로가 될 예정입니다.
카마로 외에 어떤 차종이 지엠대우 뱃지를 달 것인지, 어떤 차종이 쉐보레 뱃지를 달 것인지는 아직 결정된 바가 없습니다.
대부분의 지엠대우 공장, 네개중의 세개가 현재 풀가동중이거나 초과하고 있습니다. 군산공장과 창원공장이 가장 바쁘고, 보령공장에서는 올해 75만기의 엔진과 변속기를 생산할 예정입니다. (엔진 45만기, 변속기 30만기)
GM 우즈베키스탄 파워트레인공장은 2011년 오픈을 목표로 하고 있습니다.
우즈베키스탄의 두 생산설비의 생산량은 올해 약 26만대에 달할 것입니다. 올해 스파크(마티즈 크리에이티브)의 출시는 매우 성공적이었고 우즈베키스탄에서 수요가 엄청납니다. 물량 공급에는 상당히 오랜 시간이 필요해 보입니다.
지엠대우는 여기서 KOTRA(한국 무역진흥공사)와 공동으로 진행하고 있으며 우즈베키스탄 정부는 현지화를 늘리고 있지요. 지엠대우는 한국 부품회사들이 우즈베키스탄에 진출하여 우리의 현지 사업을 지원할 강력한 부품공급 기반을 구축하기를 바라고 있습니다.
중국 시장도 불이 붙었습니다. 중국은 지엠대우의 탑-3 고객 중의 하나입니다. 부품뿐만 아니라 CKD와 파워트레인을 내보내고 있죠. 지엠대우는 GM 차이나의 확장을 계속 지원할 것입니다.
KDB(한국산업은행)과의 협상도 진행중이며, "협상이 잘 마무리되리라 믿습니다"라고 산업은행장이 말씀하셨습니다.
모든 것들이 잘 진행되고 있네요.

Here are some snippets that I jotted down in President Arcamone's many media interviews in Paris.
Chevrolet is on target for launch in Korea next year. The first vehicle to launch will be the iconic Camaro. Other than Camaro NO decision has been made as to what vehicles will be badged GM Daewoo and which will be badged Chevrolet.
Most of our plants 3/4 of them are at or over capacity. Gunsan and Changwon are busiest. We will build 750,000 engines and transmissions in Boryeong this year (450,000 engines and 300,000 transmissions).
GM Uzbekistan power train plant is on target for opening in 2011. Our production in our two Uzbek manufacturing facilities will be about 260,000 units this year. The Spark launch was a great success and there is tremendous demand for this vehicle in Uzbekistan. The wait for delivery is quite long. GM Daewoo is working with KOTRA and the uzbek government to increase localization. We want Korean suppliers to locate to Uzbekistan to help build a strong supply base for our operations there.
China market is on fire. China is one of the top 3 customers for GM Daewoo. Sending CKD and power trains to China as well as components. GM Daewoo will continue to support GM China's expansion.
KDB negotiations are progressing. "I am confident that we will solve this issue," the President said.
All in all, it has been a very good show for GM Daewoo.
