금주에 있을 일을 알려드릴께요.
오늘 아침 쏟아지는 비를 뚫고 부평 본사에 도착했습니다. 주차장에는 44대의 알페온이 주차되어 있었습니다.
이 차들은 모두 다음주에 있을 미디어 론치를 위해 제주도로 떠납니다. 아주 좋아 보입니다.
제주도의 날씨가 좋길 바랍니다. 솔직히 말씀 드리자면, 제주도는 갈 때마다 그리 운이 좋지 못했습니다. 제가 그곳에 갈 때마다 비가 왔었습니다. 5번을 갔는데, 그 중 4번 비가 왔었죠.
25일에는 아카몬 사장님이 쉐보레 스파크 현지 론칭을 위해 우즈베키스탄 타슈켄트로 갑니다. GMUZ (지엠 우즈베키스탄)에있어 아주 중요한 행사입니다. 처음으로 치르는 글로벌차량 론칭이기 때문입니다. 쉐보레 스파크는 가장 최신의 기술이 접목된 차량이고 전세계 시장에서 호평을 받은 차량이기에 우즈베키스탄에서 시작하기에 좋은 차량이라고 할 수 있습니다. 행사는 잘 될 겁니다. 한국에서는 목요일에 사진을 릴리즈할 예정입니다.
저는 다음주 월요일 기자시승행사 준비를 마무리 짓기 위해 제주도로 떠납니다. 시승은 공항에서 바로 시작됩니다. 점심식사 전에는 지엠대우 임원들이 알페온을 설명하는 자리도 있을 예정입니다. 오후에는 여러 가지 다양한 프로그램들이 준비가 되어 있습니다. 저녁 식사 장소도 아주 기대됩니다.
금주엔 할 일이 참 많습니다만, 제품과 관련된 일은 언제나 즐겁습니다.

A couple of things to key your eyes on this week….
In the midst of a thunderstorm this morning, I arrived at our Bupyeong headquarters and the parking lot was full of Alpheons, 44 in all. They are all headed to Jeju Island today for our event next week. They look great – 5 colors in all.
I am hoping for good weather on Jeju. To be honest, I have not had great luck with weather on Jeju Island. It usually rains when I am there, so watch out. I have been there five times and I think it rained four of the five times.
On August 25th, Mike Arcamone will be in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to launch the Chevrolet Spark, sold in Korea as the Matiz Creative. This is a significant launch for GM UZ because it is the first global vehicle launch in the country. The Chevy Spark is a great vehicle to start with as it is equipped with the very latest technologies, etc. and has received accolades around the world. Should be a good event. We’ll be moving pictures and a photo release on Thursday morning here in Korea.
Next week, I head to Jeju on Monday to wrap up the preparations for our media program. The ride and drive will begin at the airport and we’ll have formal presentations just before lunch time. Lots planned for the afternoon and I am very excited about the evening venue.
A lot of work to be done this week, but product work is always fun work for me.
